"True co-operation brings easy success in every task."

Contemplation

To be co-operative to someone who is being good to you, and to get the co-operation of "good" people is easy.  But other people's co-operation does not come consistently.  When we lack co-operation, it affects the task and our state of mind negatively.

Application

True co-operation is a result of the vision of hope and faith I have in every individual I come in contact with.  When I have this vision, I am better able to co-operate in the right way.  And I am more likely to gain their co-operation at all times and for all tasks - because I will be inspiring the best in them.

"True progress lies in the power of co-operation."

Contemplation

In today's world, we often think of competition as a way to progress.  Comparing ourselves with others can inspire us to perform better.  Sometimes, we avoid helping others because it might hinder our own progress.  But what we often overlook is that we cannot do everything on our own.  We need to learn to work with others if we want to experience true success.

Application

True co-operation is the ability to help others and to allow them to help us.  I need to learn that other people have a lot to teach me, and that I have something to offer them.  When I learn to co-operation with people, we all make more progress.

"The best way to teach is by example."

Contemplation

When we are trying to help someone learn, we use many words trying to explain a point.  We want to convince the other person of what we are saying and expect them to behave according to our desire.  Yet it is not so easy to convince other, and people continue to behave according to what they feel is right.

Application

Actions are more convincing than words. When people see me doing something, it creates a greater impact than if I had just explained it to them.  My actions become a source of inspiration that brings about a change in others.

Day 170 Value of Co-Operation

"When everyone one is working toward a common task, co-operation becomes easy."

Contemplation

To win other people co-operation, we need to share both the task and the information regarding the task with everyone involved.  If we communicate our motives using easy and simple language, everyone will understand.  This helps create team spirit, when everyone naturally does their best for the good of all involved.

Application

Whenever I take up a new task that involves working with several people, I need to let everyone know everything before we get started.  Even the small details can make a big difference to other's understanding and help them prioritize tasks.  When everyone works together in harmony, we are able to complete the task quickly and efficiently.

Day 164 Value of Co-operation

"Good wishes with co-operation."

Contemplation

Using force or anger as a means to get things done is common.

But it doesn't inspire good feeling in others.  Although the task gets completed,  it is neither done as well as it could be, nor do we get real satisfaction from it.

Application

It is more important for me to focus on having positive feelings and good wishes for those around me than on getting a task done.  If I look for the good in people, I cannot help but love them.  When I express that love,  I create a positive environment in which all work together toward a shared goal.  I no longer have to worry about getting others to co-operate with me. Instead, it happens naturally.
